Charon's Gate - The River Styx
    Introduction: Dance of Death!

    [Ironbeard Pirates]

The voice of the figure above swept through the ship. The song of battle made by the crew-members of the Ironbeard Pirates seemed to go perfectly with the singing voice, bringing a theme to the battle. The drones inundated the ship, climbing on and rushing the ones aboard. Some threw them off the ship, others punches them with flamey fury, others shot at them, others slashed at them, others trapped them. They all had similar effect. Upon being hit hard enough, the green figures would explode into seaweed. They were literally souls trapped in seaweed. Dozens and dozens of bodies fell unconscious while keeping their form as their shadows were taken. Dozens of others fell into the mirror dungeons.

Yet they did not stop. The Ironbeards found their ship inundated with them. The numbers peaked up to the hundreds. The ship rocked back and forth, as the figures pulled on the ship from the ocean. They moaned, the chorus of the battle song. Suddenly, a shadow landed at the helm of the ship, and continued with the next verse.

    "Yo ho ho
Traveling in a world of my creation,
Simply seek a dance of much elatiooooonnnn!"

With that last word, the ocean itself shifted. The water around the Iron Maiden parted, like Moses parting the Red Sea. This would cause the Iron Maiden to fall to the ocean floor, now devoid of water, only fifteen meters down. The water had risen over the gap, now coming down on the ship from above. The waters would be green, showing that the seaweed souls were surfing the wave, to literally inundate the ship - hundreds of them. The ships of old trapped in the River Styx had damage in accordance with such a natural disaster. The moonlight was barely visible at the edge of the curving waves, the opening to the untouched River Styx slowly closing as the waters closed in.

    "Yo ho ho
In River Styx, you'll be free
    If you sway with meeeeeee!"

At the helm, a figure in a grey cloak still sang, it's likeness clearly male. The figure's head was roaring with a blue flame. It has no 'voice' under mantra or even a shadow. Some souls rushed the figure with even more hostility than the Ironbeards, but they ignited in blue flames upon getting close. The figure offered its hand forward to the Ironbeards, hips swaying back and forth. The hand was grey and rotten, maggots slithering in and out. The waters closed in on the ship.

    Ironbeards

Onwards the Ironbeards fought, and each of them had their own intentions of what to do with the zombies. Pete wanted them off his ship altogether and Dani wanted them destroyed by way of her fiery fist. Eris, however, had different plans. After a strange request, Ammy shone a light down onto the deck, of which cast shadows of everyone aboard. The mischievous teifling ran about grabbing the shadows of the seaweed zombies and clipping them from their bodies, the black reflections becoming tangible in her hands. Yen also got crafty by summoning mirrors and letting the zombies fall into her mirror dimension.

Still, even the invigorated retaliation of the Ironbeards wasn't holding off the oncoming horde of seaweed zombies for long. The eerie song of the dark lurker continued, and his shadow landed on the deck of the ship. With a few more words, the water around the Iron Maiden parted beneath the ship, and she began to fall. But before the Maiden's hull hit the floor, she was stopped in mid air. There, she floated above the ground near to where she was originally at.

Pete's arms were outstretched, hands open and palms outward. His body was coursing with sparking electricity, and the Maiden hovered under his command. He was controlling the metal in his ship, and he wouldn't let his beloved vessel succumb to such a trap.

"Bosun! Power to the rear Gaon and fire as soon as she's ready. E'ryone else, ready for Coup de Burst an' hold onto yer asses!"

Below deck, the Bosun had made his way to the engine room. He was soon greeted by the head engineer, a crass old man everyone knew as Guido.

"What in th' name o' mother Mary's tight snatch is f'ckin goin' on upstairs?! Yer makin' more ruckus than gettin' yer d!ck wet inna two hundred beri wh*re!"

"Excuse me Mr Guido" Nova interrupted as her form popped up on a hologram at the entrance between Guido and the Bosun. "We kinda under attack by weird zombies. Cap'n Pete said to put power to the rear Gaon and fire as soon as possible."

"F'ckin' bullsh!t orders! Y'all 've any f'ckin idea 'ow hard it is on th'engines if we do an emergency shot like were tryna fill a hooker's babymaker?"

"I'm going to assume the Captain designed the engines himself and knows what they're capable of, which includes emergency firing in a tight spot. Now allow me to say this in his voice: ****ing fire the rear Gaon Cannon or you'll be keehauled first!"

    "Grrmbmbmbmmmble...f'ckin robot cVnt."

Guido grumpily hopped over to a control panel filled with levers and switches and started pulling select ones. Above head gauges and dials started reading increased energy input from the engines to the Gaon Cannon, of which was quickly building up pressure. It would take a minute, but once the pressure was strong enough, Guido yelled something about holding onto something the way someone holds their own genitals during masturbation and pulled the big lever.

Back above deck, Pete received the word from Nova that the Gaon Cannon was firing. He roared and made his commands known to everyone to hold on and don't let go no matter what. Everyone was subject to the power of the Gaon Cannon, firing from the stern. The pressurized air fired the ship forward, rocketing the Iron Maiden through the air and forward through the seas. The seaweed zombies that weren't holding onto anything would be blown away from the force of the flight.

Charon's Gate - The River Styx

More and more of the seaweed creatures continued to pour onto the ship. They were countless in numbers, but the crew continued to fight them back. Eris was hard at work rending the shadows free of as many as she could. As far as she was concerned this was a blast. Amaterasu was up in the crow's nest shining her light. Though the goddess soon enough found that this would not be sufficient as more of these creatures continue to flood the deck.

The goddess would create an orb of light that would hover above the ship and act as a spotlight to continue shining down upon the deck of the ship. Then from there she'd point her fingers at either side of the ship. Both sides would be covered as from her fingers a machine gun rain of lasers would fire in volleys down upon the seaweed creatures. These lasers would not be aimed at the ones on the deck of the ship, rather it aimed to strike any attempting to climb aboard. Amaterasu was deliberate in avoiding damaging the ship.

Eris on the other hand would try a new tactic as the numbers kept mounting. Her doppleman would break off into multiple small bats. This was her Brick Bat technique. Each one of the bats would fly behind a different seaweed zombie and bite down upon it's shadow. Then said bat would lift the shadow off the ground. Eris meanwhile would drop her knight. From her hand a bow would manifest itself with an arrow already drawn. The power of the Lily Carnation upon her right shoulder. Eris would launch one arrow after another, each time a new one manifesting as she drew the bowstring back. Each arrow flew to sever another shadow, to which the Brick Bat would come deliver it to her.

Soon enough the sea opened up underneath the ship, seeking to swallow it whole. Pete used his powers over magnetism to keep the ship from falling, and would order the escape. It would take a bit of time though. Meanwhile the singing figure would appear at the helm of the ship. From the crow's nest Amaterasu eyed the figure with the burning head. She assumed he was the source of this headache. In a flash of light she vanished. The goddess materialized behind the figure. Her right pointer finger was glowing as it pointed at the man's back.

Call off your creatures and tell use why you're here. I will not ask again.

This was no idle threat. It came with authority. Amaterasu showed no fear. She simply awaited a response as her finger glowed with power. Then would come Pete's roar as he said to hold on as the Goan Cannon was firing. Amaterasu would draw her blade and jam it into the deck of the ship. She'd hold onto it. The glow in her finger would shift to her eyes as both hands gripped the hilt of her blade. Her eyes would not leave the figure at the helm. Eris on the other hand would command her shadow to turn into a rope, which it would. One end would be tied to the mast, and the other around her waist. She was secure as the ship would blast off.

    Yennefer - The River Styx

The black witch remained behind her mirror, safe from the simple-minded zombies that were becoming legion aboard the Iron Maiden. The natives, trained and toughened by battle, were striking at the seaweed creatures with great strength and vigour. Layla especially was mowing them down by the dozens. Despite this continuous onslaught, there didn't seem to be any end to the zombies. Amaterasu was striking at zombies attempting to climb the ship with a nigh infinite barrage of powerful lasers. At times like this, Yennefer was reminded just how powerful the self-proclaimed Sun Goddess actually was. How fortunate the Ironbeards were that she was on their side. Dani and Eris too were participating heavily in the battle, and their results were impressive. Shadows were stolen, and faces punched.

Just then, the very ocean beneath the Iron Maiden began to quake violently. Before anyone could question what was happening, the ocean parted ways beneath the vessel, much like the biblical tale of Moses. Ironbeard, however, did not seem to like this one bit. With his newfound power of magnetism, he managed to keep the ship afloat in the area, controlling every piece of metal like it was an extension of his own body. The Ironbeards were finally gaining the upper hand. Just then, Pete announced that the Gaon cannon was ready to launch. Yennefer, knowing exactly what this meant, grabbed a piece of rigging, and tied it around her waist before holding on to a nearby railing. The ship was about to launch.

    The Ferryman!

    [Ironbeard Pirates]

The ocean parted, and the ship fell. Cloaked in purple electricity, the captain willed the ship to float. The waters curved, filled with hundreds of sea-weed wrapped souls, coming down on the ship. The Iron Maiden stood in danger. At the helm, the shadowy figure with naught but a signature outstretched his hand. It seemed as if he wanted a partner to dance with. The man's hips swayed back and forth in tandem with his song, dancing by himself. A flash of light appeared before the man - Amaterasu. The woman thought to be goddess raised her hand at him, commanding him to let pull the monsters back. There would be a distinct reaction.

"YOU"LL DANCE WITH ME!?!?!- the figure said with glee, turning and grabbing Amaterasu's hand

The figure turned, his blue flames growing bright with excitement. The man tried to grab Amaterasu's hand, only to pass through it. If the laser was launched, it would go right through the man. The materialized soul would go past Amaterasu's outstretched hand, leaving in its place blue fire. Suddenly, a loud boom echoed. The ship blasted off to the distance, to the hole caused by the falling waters. The many seaweed souls were blown off - they couldn't hold on even if they wanted to. In slow-motion, the ship came upon the falling waters. Like would a surfer mastering a giant wave, the ship barely got past the falling waters. The waters closed just a few feet from the ship, and the Iron Maiden flew towards abled waters. They entered another would-be portal, transporting them to another place.

The Iron Maiden would land in other waters. What were once waters filled with souls, now was waters of pitch black, almost of sludge. It made the ship hard to move. All around them were gigantic galleons and warships stuck in the waters. They were broken in pieces with marks of gigantic tentacles - they seemed be eaten almost whole. The voice from the figure would again echo. If the Ironbeards would look starboard, they'd see the blue-fire haired man standing in a small patch of land, with a large destroyed Galleon behind him.

    "Hmmmm. Let's se here...
Ironbeard, Check! Amaterasu, Check! Yennefer, Check! Ruby Red, Check!
All you other are not on the list! No matter! Charon's Gate will accept you!"
    - the figure said

The figure held a large parchment, crossing out names. He looked at the ship above his glasses, before them and the parchment poofed. Two monsters of sludge came out the waters and rushed the figure. They would ignite in fire upon touching the figure, passing by him. Whatever they were, they were not with him. The Iron Maiden was not inundated, only one sludge monster every few minutes. There was a distinct roar in the distance, and the waters shook.

"SHUT UP, YOU UGLY OLD HAG!!!"- the man suddenly screamed at the distance

With temper unparalleled, the man shouted at the distance, his hair turning from blue to red in a blaze of fury. Fire scorched the ground around him. Suddenly, the fire receded, and the man looked back at the Iron Maiden if nothing happened. The mans hips still swayed back and forth, never ceasing its dance.
