After her demonstration, Sayuri was greeted with a comment about her having a Teigu. She thought about it, and while most would have chosen to hide their Teigu, Sayuri wanted to do no such thing to people she would be working with soon. Hiding your abilities from your allies is no way to act. It seems like Jasmine would be curious as to what a Teigu was at all. She took a few steps forward, to address the two of them more directly.

"Teigu are extremely rare ancient weapons. It is believed that some form of magic was used in their creation. Many Teigu are made from danger beasts as well. Which is what gives them their special properties. Normally, a Teigu is your greatest asset in battle, and people wouldn't be so open with the fact that they have one, let alone what it is capable of. However, we are working together and you two will be future allies. I saw no reason to hide any of this from you."

Sayuri looked on at her two companions. It was time for them to go. Beyond any personal reasons Sayuri may have for getting to the capital fast, the faster they do this, the faster their missing friend can be found. Sayuri could sympathize with them. For, Kana was only on assignment for a few days, while their friend was missing with an unknown estimate on when they would see her again. It must have been a terrible feeling, especially in this dangerous world. Danger Beasts, mercenaries, soldiers, assassins, many ways for someone to meet their end. She would not let such a fate befall their friend, or Kana for that matter.

"I've decided. We will make for the capital with haste. No time for dawdling, is there?"

With that, Sayuri began walking towards the capital. It was a little hard for her to be traveling this distance solely on foot, but she couldn't exactly leave the two she was supposed to be escorting behind, right?

Progression from the road finally brought General Mari back to the capital, having gone to a village just on the outskirts to go up against the resistance possibly hiding there. Her mission, weed out anyone harboring rebels, and a strong source had informed them, some in that village were hiding those very rebels. Instead of keeping one alive to interrogate, Mari chose to wipe everyone out and leave. Ramifications are of little concern. If the Empire wished for her to remain on their side, Mari had to have freedom to bypass certain laws. Killing freely was the one rule she insisted on having. After heading through the city, Mari finally had come to the castle area, and began her walk up, heading to inform someone of her return. Coming up from the bottom, the general caught sight of what looked to be a few soldiers speaking with some bum looking peasant. Did another one truly try and sneak into the castle? What a moron. Yet she didn't need to get close to hear. She had a great sense of hearing, and overheard what was being said. They seemed to be harassing him. It didn't appear he was breaking in, but why was he just sitting there? Mari maybe on the soldier's side of the team, but Mari still has a more compassionate side for the people rather than the soldiers. Walking over to them, she places her hand to rest on the top of her blade's hilt, while addressing them from behind.

Leave us. Once the men turned to face this woman, each of them gulped at the sight and sped walked up the stairs, leaving this Shin and Mari alone for the time being. The General looked down to the sitting man, not seeming to be enthusiastic or concerned about his well being but did deep down. She didn't like bulling nor how the people are treated. But she threw away her morals long ago in order to obtain a more selfish objective. She'd allow people to get beaten, tortured, killed, anything she had to in order to achieve her goal. Still, no improvement of her goal was around at the moment, so helping a peasant or two wouldn't be so bad. Getting a better look, this man did seem familiar. His face was kind. He was but a young boy the last time Mari had seen this man. Her brows narrowed, apparently she'd lost interest in her previous actions of helping him. He could have dealt with them himself. He after all, was another pupil of the late Master Ichigen, the soldier who'd trained Mari long ago. Though this pupil was younger than Mari. Still, he was an old comrade of her early days. One she didn't particularly loath. Mari did lighten up, having a small smile come across her face.

You've gotten taller. Good to see you haven't died just yet. What brings the great young one to the capital? Perhaps you've come to tell me you're a part of the rebels? I'd surely believe you to be strong, so I wouldn't mind killing you. Or are you here to enlist? How unfortunate that would be.

Shin sat silently until the voice of a woman interrupted the sound of the consistent harassment, drawing his attention he looked up, rising to his feet once he acknowledged the soldiers were following her dismissive command without question. To Shin, if someone was capable of dismissing them that efficiently, it must have been someone of adequate authority yet only seconds after seeing her, along with her words, his serious composure was broken and his true gentle expression made it's way through, he acknowledged this was the woman he had came see. Their master passing when he was only eleven, being five years younger than his most notable senior student. He chuckled at her words before delivering his own response

Neither fortunately, yet I have come with information we both would find valuable. Of course I wouldn't come without other information for you as my senior. I had gotten word you've made quite the impact since joining the Empire...Master Ichigen was truly a courageous man. But first, my gift.

Shin moved the side of his coat, revealing not only his attire but the Late Master Ichigen's Sword. Not one he had been seen using but his "Sacred Blade" engraved and constructed by a master blacksmith the master only personally trusted with such a task. The students would remember the blade specifically for it never leaving the wall display encasing Master Ichigen always had it in. After traveling for many years, the blade had proved him well. Onto his purpose, he retrieved several letters and messages transcribed by an unknown group but he knew these plans were against the Empire, stating in full a take-over plan. Even holding details on the mission she had just came from, the rebel forces in that village merely being a distraction for someone unknown to slip in somewhere for some purpose and the attack would take place soon. Other information involved various strike points, meeting times yet the locations were encrypted. Handing over the files to Mari, Shin did not know just how severely this would impact the Empire but he did know one thing.

    The attack takes place today...

Looking out to the sky there was a decent amount of daylight hours before nightfall. At best they had 5 hours until the sun set.

But that's not why I came here, along with this plan I've learned...Yukari will be involved in some way. He's come back from whatever gutter he crawled out of. A few years ago I came across him but even with my increased skills I was no match. If Yukari is planning something, there is only one person I can ask in hope of defeating him. You, I fear us individually won't be enough so to eliminate the chance I propose we fight him together and we may finally Avenge our master. If the attack is too widespread I will understand if you protect your city, I will confront him and hold him here as long as possible until you can arrive

Neither? How amusing. Shin avoids being killed and a dog of the Empire. Listening to what he has to say, the general focused in. Shin begun his message with hopes of information that would interest her. Doubtful, unless it was a strong opponent of some kind. So far, Mari has found just feeble soldiers of the rebels or weak Teigu users. Yet so far, he informs her on an attack that would happen today in fact. That didn't bother her, nor the information on these letters as she skimmed through them. The Rebellion is happening for the right reasons in Mari's mind. This Empire is sickening and has to change, but she's found no one in the Empire that shows promise to challenge. Or at least, not as many as the opposing force has. Mari is a part of the Empire simply because it's the weaker side on the surface. The rebels and other forces seem to have a stronger image, with powerful fighters, thus getting to challenge them would be much easier if she was a member of the Empire. They'd eventually come for her.

    But regarding the attack, Shin provides Mari with actual information she did care for. Master Ichigen's murderer was a part of this attack happening apparently. This triggered a reaction from the general. A small realization that Yukari was going to be here once again, returning to the scene of the crime. Her mouth opens just a bit as she took in a small breath, and she'd refocus once more. Shin had brought her something valueable, yet he did mention him running into Yukari once before in his early travels. It appeared the young prodigy was no match for the likes of Yukari. It didn't surprise Mari. Both Yukari and Mari were on different levels than Master Ichigen's other students. Shin was the third strongest, yet the gap between the other two may have been too grand. This was proof for Mari. Almost showing annoyance, Mari felt his idea of taking him on together to have a chance was insulting. You have no idea of the power I have achieved, yet you have the audacity to assume him stronger than I because of your failure? Shin, Yukari and myself were not so far a part last time we saw each other. We didn't know who was better, because before we could, he killed the master and fled. I can only assume he feared being embarrassed by a woman winning. The fact that he'd return thinking he would escape with his life shows he's not changed. He's as arrogant as he was in his youth. Hear this Shin;

I, Mari Doiuchi, will blast him into oblivion for his crime...However...Master Ichigen was your master as well....I suppose, it can't be helped if you join in the fray.....
Without hesitation, Mari's hand grasps the hilt of her sword, and drew it at incredible speed, swinging it and aiming to cut into Shin's throat, attempting to kill him. She was not however going all out for this sudden attack, thus he'd have a chance. She wanted to see how much of a difference the training Shin accomplished. if he failed, he'd die, if he succeeded, than she understood he was not as weak as she thought him to be. ...If you survive this that is...

Shin facial expression revealed his saddened mindset, not for her confidence, but what he assumed she had no idea what she would be going against. The last encounter he had with Yukari was like nothing before, only from the personal experienced he acknowledge he was far more dangerous then before, even Shin questioned heavily if Mari would be enough. His eyes shot to her hand once he saw it's quick retreat to her hip. Shin watched which arm Mari aimed to draw her blade with, Opting to step into the outside of her drawing, raising his forearm to stop the motion of the blade and arm. Following his steps on that Side of Mari, Shin quickly continued his motion and worked his was behind Mari yet he did not attack, possibly unexpectedly, he created distance. No words were needed for he fully understood the situation.

Shin kept a sharp eye on his opponent. Not only a test of skill between former students but also a time to present the results of his progress to his senior. With clear determination in his yes, He place a hand on the hilt of his blade and shifted his feet into a stance. Looking sternly into the eyes of his opponent. Waiting to see what her next course of action would be. His eyes were sharp and focused, showing he had became quite familiar with many adversaries across time. The look of a warrior

Quite remarkable reflexes, Shin avoids death by adjusting himself around the strike and fleeing behind her, gathering distance and getting himself ready for actual combat. Mari swung her sword once at the moment he fled away from her back, and proceeded to turn and face him, dragging her blade across the ground and held slightly up from the ground afterwards. Shin was much faster than before obviously, and she couldn't help but be impressed. He exceeded her expectations already. Soon she'd find out if he was worth the time or not to actually fight seriously. Shin was now prepared. He drew his gaze on Mari, and waited for her to come to him. Though the commotion had brought guards, Mari would make sure their involvement was just as spectators and nothing more. No one interfere unless your willing to risk your family's lives. The soldiers around take a few steps back, as her threat was not simply to them. Now, the general and swordsman could fight on equal grounds. her arm rose, and waved her blade into the air, making it swipe before swinging it back to her side. You could have just made this easier for yourself and accepted death. I'm glad you did not. I accept you as a fellow student of Master Ichigen. For that, I will not waste anymore of your time. Let us begin.

Without a second warning, Mari leaped into the air with a great volume of agility and begun flipping and rolling around in the air towards Shin. Her blade swung everywhere as she did this but once he'd get a good read on her movements, he'd find she lands just out of arm's reach but ready for swordsmanship. Mari swung with grace and swiftness, making quick stabbing motions towards the torso and face. Shin would recognize this style of swordsmanship as Fencing. Clearly it was a more wasted style and not taken too seriously in the army, yet her form was enough to take out most no name fighters. With each swing, she'd make a step and adjustment, making it rather difficult to slip by her now. She'd also put pressure on his movements, as she moved forward, he'd have to either completely get between her swings, or keep backing up, which would just continue her assault until he ran out of stairs and fall over the side of the stairway towards the streets below.

Towards Jasmine's question, Sayuri seemingly wasn't shocked at all and explained to Jasmine the meaning of a 'Teigu'. Jasmine nodded at Sayuri's explanation. Teigu was practically a weapon to defend themselves at bay. 'Greatest asset', Sayuri said. As Sayuri was motioning for them to reach the Capital with haste, Jasmine gazed at Miya, smiling a little. If Miya took the lead, she would follow behind.

With the flick of his thumb against the hand guard, Shin's sword was slightly released from it's sheath as his opponent jumped
into the air, performing various aerial maneuvers before landing just out of his arms reach. Hand on the handle of his blade, Mari's first strike would be countered by his own drawing strike, deflecting the blade prior to the adjustment of his stance, performing piercing thrusts while steadily keeping an accurate re-placement of her footing to prevent Shin from working his way behind her once again. To Shin, if anything she was faster, more skilled and from the feel of the first strike deflection, she was much stronger but of course the result of her growth of the years. As she thrusts her blade, possibly to her surprise, Shin indeed did begin taking steps back, but he was managing to look ever calm, with the speed to continue blocking her strikes with short and precise swings of his blade. Manipulating his wrist for maximum adjustment to his swings.

He could feel the pressure of her assault as he was practically forced to move backwards if he still wanted to deflect the blade yet in a sudden second. Shin twisted as his blade as Mari moved into another thrust. Having his right hand, which carried his blade, He pressed it's side against his arm horizontally and stepped into his opponents attack with one sudden motion. taking a step slightly to the side to match the opposite foot Mari was using to step to the opposing side. Her thrust would come into contact with his blade, yet at the angle it would be held off from causing Shin harm. Taking advantage of her forward movement to hasten the closing distance between them. With his left hand still free, he aimed to grip Mari's arm and pull backwards to continue pulling her towards him. If he managed to pull Mari, he would waste no time, for by now he would be free from harms way of her weapon and able to quickly and fiercely strike her face with the bottom of his sword. It already being at the angle of facing her meant he wouldn't have to waste a precious second manipulating his blade in order to strike.

OOC: Sorry for the crappy short post

Let us be off then! Sayuri I think you should take lead. You seem to be the strongest and most certain of a path to the capital
Miya suggested. With sayuri in front she could deal with any monster problems on the way easily.
Time went by and they arrived at the capital. Walking through its gates.

So Sayuri, Shall we go meet up with your ally first? You seemed to be on a time frame. We can just look for Saeko afterwards since there's alot more time for that

(OOC: We'll just continue on this thread. Okie Dokie Faize likes to chokie)

Strike after strike the young prodigy had come to block the general's blade all while keeping himself from falling over as he took steps back. Even so, Mari continued to press on and thrust another after another strike, aiming to turn him into corpse. Yet, Shin kept his sword up, adjusting to her strikes quick, he'd come to find a way around her assault, which was to bring her body and weapon close enough to grab a hold of her. As her point of the blade smacks against Shin's sword, Mari would find that impressive. Normally, Shin was swinging his sword to the sides, trying to knock away her blows, but this one was an actual block which he pinpointed her exact location of where she was aiming to pierce him. Again, expected of a former student of Ichigen. However Shin had made an error. Normal swordsmanship around the areas here involved wide swings, and closing the body closer to the enemy to overpower them, something Shin was looking to take advantage of and grab her, however there was one simple problem. In Mari's stance, she was an arm lengths away, and her sword would not simply remain against his own. Her pierce wouldn't connect, and this would allow Shin to stop being pushed back for a moment, however Mari didn't simply step into grabbing distance. She remained a length away to prevent such tactics, this was fencing, not actual combat.

The General's style as of now was just toying with Shin, to get a grasp of his talent. But now gathering he had judgement and skill, it was time to pressure him. As her blade pressed against his own for the moment, Mari saw his arm against it, keeping her attack from getting pass his blade. The other arm reached out to grab Mari as he adjusted his steps to try, however slaps his arm away her sword arm's side, trying to scrap the side of the blade against Shin's free arm and attempting to wound him simply like this. Mari's senses are unusually strengthened, and she'd caught sight of his arm the moment it begun to move. This is what made her different than Shin. The General's five senses are enhanced, making her judgement even greater than his own. Whether her counter assault worked or not, the strength she possessed would carve through his arm and this time, Mari's hand flicks the hilt around, and grasping it from the bottom, having the sword held upside down. Her arm adjusts to have the blade come at Shin from around the side of him, which aimed to pierce into his shoulder.
