Coldrend - The Town of Frolic
    The Warm Hole Festival Begins

    Leonard - Hugh - Risky - Arya - Maki

Despite the festivities, Leonard was in the town of Frolic for a different reason. While the reason behind the Warm Hole was an interesting oddity, it was likely not in his area of expertise. Instead, he was here to acquire some fish. Why? Because the fish in this area were very strange and he wanted to get his hands on some for study. There was no grand plot behind it, he was simply curious and had some time on his hands. Though he was likely to learn nothing from the fish and it was doubtful any had any abilities that would interest him, it was still good practice. And who knows, maybe he'll get an idea while performing an examination.

Leonard had just finalized a deal with some of the fishermen and was walking down the street when he noticed the Marine presence. But it wasn't the fact that they were here that drew his attention. The real draw was that they were all unquestionably dead. Leonard knew a dead body when he saw one, having seen thousands as a Cipher Pol 8 scientist. But these dead bodies were moving around as though they were not dead. A cursory look told him that there were many undead Marines around the town square. While he couldn't actually tell at a distance, the fact that there was one meant there were no doubt many. Leonard paused and turned his focus inward, searching through his memories to see if he knew anything about any secret projects utilizing undead Marines from CP 8. Though he wasn't privy to many of the plots that were being plotted by the scientists, he could not recall any other scientist that was able to create undead. He doubted that the Marines would have their own group turning their own members into zombies. Perhaps New Age Genetics? He didn't recall them using undead before.

Leonard's interest was piqued. Someone out there had created zombies, and he didn't know who. It was also possible the source was a devil fruit, but he had no way to be sure. But all the Marines that were likely zombies seemed to be crowded around the entrances/exits to the town square. Leonard walked out of the square and went into an abandoned alley and jumped to the roof of a nearby building to give him a better view of the square. Although he was a government agent, he cared little for the inhabitants of the town. Indeed, their sacrifice would be better to root out the source of the zombies. Though he had no idea what was going to happen, the obvious place for it to happen would be the square that is surrounded by zombies. So Leonard stood on the building and watched, waiting. He just hoped it'd make for a good show. As for the deal he'd had with the fisherman, it was only a minor inconvenience. No money had exchanged hands yet, and there were always more fishermen that would sell him their unusual usual fare.

    "A waste of time."

Anger escaped her quiet, petite frame as Snow sat outside, at a cafe. A coffee, freshly poured, was next to her hand as fumes escaped her face. Sister Cinder sat some distance away, back to a wall while fumbling with her equipment. The slime demon was never one to let rage take her, despite her appearance. Snow was much the opposite: quick to retribution.

"Nothing but a waste of time! Cage cannot continue sending us wantonly."

A deeper meaning in these words bared, but only for those who needed hear them. Sent to a quest that ended prematurely in utter waste, Snow dragged herself back. Without mission, angry at Cage for the inadequate intel or follow through, Snow would wait for new orders. A snail phone on her persons would ring, Snow answering it as if it were fate calling.

    "Hello."

The other side was a muffle of calm, roasted words from a distinguished lady. Cinnamon toned, the ebb of these words would warm Snow's cold center, relaxing the rage. A person who held more standing than Cage when it came to commands, at least for Snow. A person who gave Snow a mission.

"Yes, My Lady. In your fire and flame I will walk."

The phone call was done and Snow was standing. Coffee would be finished, rushed, for Snow to leave her fare at the table. Placing hand upon her breast, she beckoned the one she worshiped most, an old god yet new, one of fire and rage.

"A mission for me, alone. Khaine protect."

Cinder would nod to her sister, only to return to her gear. The two, despite working well together, could seperate ways easily enough. So they did, and Snow would make her path to a ship. There, she would board, only to go to the Red Red Forests.

Upon his travels away from his homeland of Elbaf, Hugh would find himself in the town of Coldrend during a time of great merriment. The warming of the lake was a cause of great happiness for these people and Hugh was not one to avoid a good time. He somehow made it to this town, despite a train being the main means of travel to get there. He carefully walked around the small people as he looked down on their festivities. He would buy a barrel of ale from the vendors, sipping it as he made his way to a clearing big enough to deal with his giant size.

As he sat down and looked out at the lake, the chain wrapped around his right arm would rattle as he brought the barrel up to his mouth. It was but a drop in an ocean for the Giant, but tasted well enough. Yet as Hugh sat staring at the lake, he would go unaware of the treachery afoot within the town. Pirates plotting an invasion and bombing the city for whatever reason. He had no means of knowing this was happening, so he would be oblivious until the actual event occurred.

*Within the city of Frolic a celebration of sorts would be going underway, one that would celebrate the heating up of the lake an event known as the "Warm Hole". Every year this event takes place where in hundreds of people gather to enjoy the warming of the lake. While most would have arrived to the town with the intentions of enjoying the festivities, few others were there as peace keepers, hired by the head of the city to keep any unwanted riff raff at bay. One such individual would be sat in the sky one what looked like a cloud, her legs dangling out swaying back and forth. Maki, a cipher pol agent who positioned herself high above the main event area had been paid a heft sum to keep the event safe. Every year she was posted in Frolic, not that anything exciting ever usually happened aside from the stray robbery.

Though it would seem today was different .. there were far more marine personal then there had been in the previous years. She would think it a tad strange considering how dull the festivities generally were, then again it was not something completely unwarranted. Maki did indeed have a strange feeling about the event this year, call it animal instinct or women's intuition, yet something just was not sitting right with her. Taking a pen and leaf from her pouch she would quickly write something on the leaf itself, within her hand the leaf would turn into a pair of binoculars. She intended to keep a vigilant eye on the goings on of the festivities today, she hoped her instincts were just going haywire but if not, she would keep herself readied.*

The central square of Coldrend was a gathering place for people of all walks of life. This was a hub for trade, especially during the Warm Hole Festival. All was not well on this day. A couple of pirates sought to disrupt the whole thing. At this point Arya was mingling among the crowd. The Half mink cat was pretty relaxed, but made sure to keep an eye out for anyone of interest showing up. There were a few such people around, though the one that particularly caught Arya's eye was the giant. Someone of his size was hard to miss.

Risky on the other hand sat at the fountain in the center of the square. She watched the time carefully. The clock ticked ever closer to noon. Her marine zombie impostors were at the ready and as far as she could tell no one suspected her. Her bombs would go unmolested and soon enough Noon would strike. Without warning various bombs would explode around the square. Dust would be kicked up and numerous people would find themselves injured. Debris from merchant stalls and carts could be seen scattered about.

Call for back up! Help me escort the injured out of here!

One marine zombie would shout out to his comrades. The zombies that were at the entrances would now scatter about. Some went to take the injured away, others could be seen loading dead bodies onto carts, and more still looked as though they were heading to call for help, but in fact this was a ruse. Risky would stand up on the fountain and make a declaration to those present. She wasn't going to sit back quietly. She wanted the credit for this, and would accept the risk that entailed.

Listen up you filthy bilge rats! If you don't want to end up dead then shut up and lie face down.

Risky stood atop the fountain as she made her demands. Civilians stared at the pirate with horror, quickly realizing that she is the cause of this mayhem. Though Risky would be unaware of the agents present who'd likely step in to halt her nefarious plans. Either way, this day just got interesting.

*Perched up high above it all on her summoned cloud she would watch as explosions would over take the square in a formation that would leave the stage and area around it relatively unharmed. Those on the outside of the stage area would find themselves badly injured with the marines who once stood guard and were now assisting the injured to carts, that to Maki would wave a few red flags. If the marines were helping them why then would they be piling the wounded and injured on top of one another on carts of all things. If that was not all it would seem the one running the show had decided to take center stage, announcing that those who were uninjured were to lie face down or die.

Taking out two leaves she would write her own name down onto them. Placing them onto the summoned cloud in which she sat two more of her would appear as if like magic. The two clones of herself would look toward her as she would begin to delegate orders to them.*

001, you go toward the carts over toward the left and investigate them and the marines. If you find anything of suspicion take care of it, quickly. 002 go to the carts on the right and do the same. I'll go down and see about that one on stage.

*Once her orders were delivered the two clones of her would vanish toward the various carts for their investigations of them and the marines. Maki herself would pop the cloud turning it back into a leaf before she would begin to hop within the air. Poofing a leaf into her hand she would begin to write onto it. Positioning herself above the half minks she would poof what she wrote on the leaf into existence, "anvil". Appearing out of thin air a large, heavy metal anvil would instantly drop down. Her intention was to first distract Risky's attention to herself and maybe squish herm in the process.*
